A mindful flowing vinyasa yoga practice for beginners to advanced. We start with intention to connect our mind, body, and spirit through pranayama (breath work) and warm up postures. Moira will lovingly guide you through a series of asana, using elemental sequencing for a flowing, mindful yet invigorating practice. Ending with a cool down and blissful savasana and guided meditation, you will leave this class energized, connected and refreshed!
In this class we explore the foundations of yoga, breaking down the poses, working on safe alignment, modifications and lots of hands on assistance. Learn the common sanskrit terms, the benefits of each pose, yogic breathing techniques, mindfulness and more. This is a perfect introduction to those new to yoga or looking for a slower, modified practice. Come with an open mind and leave your limitations at the door. All are welcome.
Yin & Yoga Nidra
A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held (3-5 minutes), passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues, accessing deeper layers of fascia.
Yoga Nidra, sometimes referred to as 'yogic sleep,' is a restorative meditation that guides you into conscious awareness of each part of the body for deep and effortless relaxation. Yoga Nidra induces a deep state of relaxation and inner awareness, in guided savasana pose.
In this class, we will begin with a series of Yin poses to gently stretch and prepare the body and mind for the deeply restorative yoga nidra experience. Candlelight, eye pillows, soothing tones from singing bowls and deep inner awareness. Open to all levels.
Chakra Balancing Yoga
This is a special class devoted to working through our chakra energy. Experience the opening and healing of your chakra energy centers through an immersion experience of movement, sound, color, and energy!!
We will experience the sound vibrations of the Tibetan singing bowls, as we practice specific yin yoga poses to open each chakra. We incorporate mantra, mudra, visualization, color and sound to fully experience the effects of these powerful energy centers.
This is a restorative and uplifting practice. No experience necessary.
Energy Medicine Yoga
Through this innovative style of yoga we work to tap into our energy centers to release blocked energy and create flow and ease in our bodies. This is a slow, mindful practice, that combines yoga, tai chi, energy medicine, chakra work and mindfulness. Stretch beyond the typical asanas and move into the more subtle energy systems that govern your physical experience. We will work with mantra, chanting, mudras, pranayama, bandas and a combination of eastern and esoteric modalities to transcend the limitations of the mind and body. Come away with a new understanding and practices to expand your awareness and harness your energy to work for you.
Fun filled class with upbeat music to make you move! We begin with a dance inspired fluid warm up that gets you feeling the music and moving your body in a natural, rhythmic way. We use the music to explore your full expression of the poses. A great way to step out of your head, into you body and get your energy flowing! Combination of guided and self-expression movement set to inspirational music that will allow you to release and express yourself in a safe, supportive space. Come have fun and set your yoga free!!
In this Hatha / Vinyasa practice we will explore working with a partner to provide resistance and support in various poses. We will begin with a warm up, including some tai yoga massage techniques, and work thru various floor and standing postures together. This is a fun interactive class that will help us deepen our practice of being supported and supportive. We will strengthen our muscles and our bonds as we work together. Stretching out our knots and exploring our flexibility in partner groups. This is a inclusive class for couples and friends of all types to explore working and playing together. Fun and playful. All levels including newbie are welcome!
